My Work

Communication that creates clarity, alignment, and trust.

For more than 25 years, my work has focused on one fundamental challenge: how to communicate complex ideas in ways people can understand, trust, and act upon.

My experience spans executive and strategic communications, technology, risk, organizational change, employee engagement, crisis communications, and corporate storytelling within large, highly regulated organizations.

My approach is informed by both practice and scholarship. As a communications leader and rhetorician, I think deeply about audience, language, context, credibility, and the relationship between institutional voice and human experience.

I believe the strongest communication begins with understanding what is true, what matters, and what an audience needs to know—and then finding the clearest, most meaningful way to say it.

Strategic & Executive Communication

My career has centered on translating complex business priorities into clear, compelling communication.

My experience includes executive communications, strategic messaging, organizational narratives, change communications, employee engagement, crisis and issues communications, audience strategy, and translating complex data and technical information into meaningful stories.

Across this work, my focus remains consistent: creating communication that helps people understand where they are, why something matters, and what comes next.

Rhetoric & Meaning-Making

My professional work is grounded in rhetoric: the study of how language, audience, context, identity, and power shape meaning.

I am particularly interested in the space between institutional voice and human experience. I examine how organizations communicate what they mean while understanding how those messages may actually be received.

That perspective informs how I approach audience, messaging, storytelling, trust, and communication ethics.

Scholarship & Writing

I hold a PhD in Rhetorics, Communication, and Information Design from Clemson University.

My scholarship and writing examine rhetoric, identity, narrative, culture, embodiment, and the ways people and institutions create meaning through language and story.

Across professional and academic writing, I return to the same questions: What is the story being told? Is it clear? Is it credible? Does it reflect what is actually true? And how will the people receiving it understand it?
